November marks the fifth anniversary of Estonian Environmental Law Center! More exactly, it was on the second of November in 2007 when the new organisation – EELC was hatched in the nest of Estonian Fund of Nature (ELF).
During the last five years EELC has contributed to the development of the field of environmental law, both in its legislative and practical part . We have issued the monthly newsletter on environmental matters, prepared the legal analyses, organised the trainings, put together guidelines and given legal aid. In collaboration with other environmental organisations we are trying to increase the citizen participation and the transparency of environmental decision-making process.
The 5th anniversary party was held on the 2nd of November in Tartu, where our friends were invited to celebrate the day. The creation story of EELC was recalled, also the present and the future were discussed.
We have asked our friends to answer the question, what is the 5-year-old EELC like?
Quoting the different opinions “EELC is competent and open in its actions”. We are “smart, developing and ambitious organisation, which has a unique action field”. In summary, EELC is “a commited and enthusiastic do-gooder”.EELC would like to thank all its partners and good friends! With your support we will start our next year!
