Full membership status gives EELC the opportunity for closer substantive cooperation with other environmental organizations and helping to increase both EELC’s and EKO’s impact in environmental advocacy.
Estonian Council of Environmental NGOs was founded by ten Estonian environmental NGOs in 2002. EKO is an informal politically independent network that helps environmental activists jointly achieve the environmental protection goals that are important for all of us. During the years EKO members have made great efforts to make Estonian forestry, agriculture, energy policies and planning decisions more environmental friendly.
Today eleven non-governmental environmental organizations belong to EKO: Estonian Fund for Nature, Estonian Green Movement, Estonian Ornithological Society, SEI Tallinn, Estonian Seminatural Community Conservation Association, Society against Nõmme Road, Tartu Student Nature Protection Circle, Estonian Students Society for Environment Protection “Sorex”, NGO Läänerannik, Baltic Environmental Forum Estonia and Estonian Environmental Law Center.
